Dive into the heart of winter and join us for the Polar Bear Dip!
Get ready to dip with Childcan and don' forget to bring a towel for drying off after and warming up!
A diagnosis of cancer in a child is devastating. Besides the incredible emotional toll it takes on the family and, of course, the child, it is estimated that one-third of a family’s net income will be redirected to costs incurred while their child is in treatment.
This is why we hold Childcan’s Polar Bear Dip.
All of the proceeds support Childcan and the families we serve throughout Western Ontario, providing direct financial assistance, social and emotional support, and funding research at Children’s Hospital in London.
Join us on Saturday, March 1st from 9:30am-1pm
Registration is open and you can find the online form here.
If you need a pledge form to collect physical donations, please contact us.
In order to do the dip, you need a wristband to get in the water. You must get the wristband at the Masonic Centre of Elgin. Check-in is much faster if you have pre-registered online. This is also the time to hand in any cash or cheques you have collected, with the corresponding pledge sheets.
Buses will shuttle people to and from Little Beach, Port Stanley, starting at 10:45am. After the dip, buses will return to the Masonic Centre for entertainment, lunch, silent auction, and more! Lunch is provided for anyone who has registered and has a wristband. We will ask that anyone without a wristband pays (cost TBD) to cover the cost of providing their lunch.
