The Municipality of Central Elgin is a progressive, growing urban and rural municipality located on the shores of Lake Erie in the heart of Southwestern Ontario with a population of 12,360 people.

Central Elgin was formed in 1998, through the amalgamation of three former municipalities, The Village of Belmont, The Village of Port Stanley and The Township of Yarmouth (which included the Village of Sparta).

Central Elgin boasts vibrant and active communities that offer a rich variety of recreational, leisure and cultural activities for all ages.
Central Elgin Council works conscientiously to deliver a proactive, citizen-driven agenda for our Municipalities long-term prosperity and success.

This approach is fundamental to Central Elgin’s future and is the cornerstone of our overall model of governance.

Whether visiting for business or for pleasure, you will enjoy experiencing the intriguing opportunities which the Municipality has to offer.
