Lots to do in Bayham

Discover Bayham

There is a lot to do and see in the Municipality of Bayham.

Vienna

The Village of Vienna was the home of Thomas Alva Edison’s grandfather and relatives, and it is commonly accepted that the inventor visited here as a young boy.  A provincial plaque now identifies the site of original homestead, located adjacent to the Otter Creek.  This is now the Edison Museum of Vienna.  The museum is currently closed at 14 Snow Street, Vienna, Ontario, however there is a display located at 6209 Plank Rd, Vienna, Ontario.

Port Burwell Marina Museum and Historic Lighthouse

Constructed in the 1840’s, one of the most historic sites on Lake Erie is the Port Burwell lighthouse. This is a very popular tourist site and lots of tourist information on Elgin County.  Just across the road from the historic lighthouse is the Marine Museum.  This museum houses one of the finest collections of lighthouse lenses on the Great Lakes.  This can be found at 20 Pitt Street, Port Burwell, Ontario.

The Beach

The shallow waters of Lake Erie create ideal swimming opportunities for many tourists.  Located just past the Historic Lighthouse there is 2 km of sandy beach to relax and enjoy beautiful Lake Erie.
