It is strawberry season!
- The only fruit that has their seeds on the outside is strawberries.
- Strawberries are members of the rose family.
- Belgium has a museum dedicated to strawberries.
You don’t have to go to Belgium to get your strawberries though; there are many places in Elgin County to go:

Why buy locally grown food?
Well, the average food item travels 2500-4000 KM before it reaches your plate, so when you buy local you'll get exceptional taste and freshness, strengthen your local economy, support endangered family farms, safeguard your family's health, and protect the environment.

In 1989, the Ferguson's planted their first strawberries. Now many years later, the farm consists of 7 varieties of strawberries - available at the retail roadside market, through U-pick or through select grocery stores in Southwestern Ontario. Ferguson berries grow with drip line irrigation that provides proper moisture and nutrients. Our soil is clay-loam and is systematically drained.
