Iron Horse Festival

Each year, in mid-August, the people of St. Thomas gather to celebrate the great iron horses of the past. The Iron Horse Festival is one of South-Western Ontario’s largest street festivals and pays tribute to the days when the railway was a way of life in St. Thomas. Every year the festival welcomes over 20, 000 visitors who gather to help St. Thomas celebrate its rich railway heritage, and to partake in the many events the festival has to offer. The Iron Horse Festival spreads across five city blocks on Talbot Street in downtown St. Thomas. There are three stages with unforgettable entertainment, delicious festival cuisine, cruise shows, craft artisans selling their products, and various children’s activities. Thrill seekers can take a ride on the midway that runs throughout the festival.

Entertainment this year includes famed Elvis Impersonator Roy LeBlanc, an Iron Chef Competition, many local musicians, artists, and Freshfest (local food festival).

A Day Out with Thomas

Spend a day of family fun with Thomas the Tank Engine. Take a ride with Thomas and participate in other fun Thomas themed activities at the Imagination Station, including Thomas inflatable, readings and videos, stamps, temporary tattoos and hands on arts & crafts. Have your picture taken with Sir Topham Hatt, straight from the island of Sodor!
