Experience Elgin 2011

Cross the border into Elgin County by boat.

Border Crossing By Water

Whether you enjoy the hustle and bustle of a busy portside village, or a more tranquil atmosphere, international visitors to any of our four ports will enjoy a variety of activities and adventures. As with any border crossing, security protocol is in place and must be followed whether you are a U.S. citizen travelling to Canada, or a Canadian returning from the U.S. Please see below for important information and links that will help you plan your trip.

General Guidelines for Border Crossing

The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) provides general guidelines for admission into Canada for non-Canadians and returning Canadians. Generally, a passport is the recommended form of identification. For more information, visit http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/security-securite/admiss-eng.html.

Arrival & Check In

Upon arriving at one of our ports, the master of the boat (the person in charge) is required to go to a telephone reporting marine site and call the telephone reporting centre at 1-888-226-7277. No one except the master may leave the boat until the CBSA gives authorization. See below for a list of telephone reporting marine sites in Elgin County.
